FAQ - Discontinuation of Live Streaming
As live streaming and virtual events decline in demand, AnywhereSeat has decided to phase out our hosted live stream and video uploading features to maintain costs.
You’ll still be able to use your own Vimeo, YouTube, or other video services to run your live streams or videos and embed them into your AnywhereSeat events.
AnywhereSeat will still be available to facilitate ticket transactions, access your live streams and videos, real-time donations, chat, reporting, and more.
This change will take place on April 7, 2025, and we will send out reminders every month until then.
- Make sure you have access to all of your videos so you can download them for safekeeping.
- Begin by exploring your options if you do not already use a service like Vimeo Pro or YouTube live streaming. We recommend doing a test run in your AnywhereSeat account to ensure embedding works for the service you choose.
If you need a recording of any previous live streams, please reach out to Live Chat Support with the event you wish to receive a recording of. The team will be able to assist in retrieving and sharing that link with you.
You will lose access to these videos after April 7, 2025.
We will honor these requests up until April 1st. If your event is past this date someone from our Customer Success team will contact you to provide information on alternative options.
Having your own Vimeo account offers several benefits, depending on your needs—whether you’re an individual content creator, a business, or a professional. Here’s a rundown of some of the main advantages:
1. Control Over Content & Branding
- Customization: You can fully customize your video player, adding your logo, changing colors, and tweaking the interface to match your brand’s aesthetic.
- Ad-Free Experience: Vimeo doesn’t place ads on your videos, unlike platforms like YouTube, which can disrupt the viewer experience.
2. Privacy & Security
- Privacy Controls: Vimeo allows you to set privacy levels for each video (e.g., password protection, domain-level privacy, or making videos viewable only to certain people).
- Video Encryption: Vimeo offers more robust security features for sensitive content, such as encrypted delivery and two-factor authentication.
3. Better Video Quality
- Vimeo has a reputation for providing higher-quality video playback, including support for 4K and HDR. If you’re a videographer, filmmaker, or content creator, this is a big selling point.
4. Advanced Analytics
- You get detailed statistics on your videos—such as views, geographic location of your audience, engagement, etc. This can help refine your content strategy or track the performance of your videos.
Yes! You will still be able to use your own Vimeo, YouTube, or other video services (Like Zoom) to run your live streams or videos.
